Free QR code generator QR codes that look designed and keep working forever
Design a code below, download it in seconds, and change where it points whenever you like. Free, self-hostable, and no trial countdown anywhere in the product.
A complete QR platform, not a paywalled generator
QR ALTRIX gives you the design tools, tracking and infrastructure that usually sit behind a subscription — on your own server, under your own domain.
A design editor that earns the print budget
32 frame presets, seven pattern styles, gradients, logo library and a live scan-safety score. What you see in the preview is exactly the file you download.
Dynamic codes that never expire
No trial countdown, no subscription wall, no scan cap. A code stops only when you pause it, delete it, or set a schedule yourself.
Analytics you can act on
Total and unique scans, country, city, device, browser, OS, language, time of day, referrer and UTM campaigns — exportable to CSV or XLSX.
Your domain, your links
Point links.yourbrand.com at QR ALTRIX, verify it with one DNS record, and pick your own slug per code. Free, like everything else here.
Bulk generation without limits
Upload a CSV, map the columns, validate every row before anything is written, then download the whole batch as a ZIP.
Team roles and audit trail
Owner, Admin, Editor, Analyst, Viewer and folder-scoped Limited access — with a security history of every change.
Password and schedule controls
Protect a code with a password, open it only during opening hours, or cap scans — all optional, all switched off by default.
Smart routing
Send iPhone users to the App Store and Android users to Play, or route by country, language and time of day from one printed code.
Built for the places QR codes actually live
Print once, change the destination as often as you need.
Restaurants and cafés
Table-tent menus you edit from your phone. Change a price at 11 am and every printed code is already up to date.
Retail and packaging
Product pages, how-to videos and coupons on the pack. Track which store, city and device scanned most.
Real estate
Window cards and yard signs that open a photo gallery, floor plan PDF and your contact card in one tap.
Events and venues
Tickets, agendas and feedback forms. Schedule a code to open only during the event, then point it at the recap.
Agencies and marketers
Campaign codes with UTM parameters baked in, folders per client, team roles, and CSV exports for reporting.
Creators
One link-in-bio code on every poster, with your profiles, latest video and playlist behind it.
31 QR code types
Static codes hold their content forever and work offline. Dynamic codes point at a short link you own, so you can edit and measure them without reprinting.

Questions, answered plainly
If something here is still unclear, the support page will reach a human.
Do dynamic QR codes really never expire?
Yes. There is no trial, no subscription and no scan limit. A dynamic code stops working only if you pause it, delete it, switch on a schedule or scan limit yourself, or if a platform administrator disables it for abuse. Nothing expires on a timer.
Is QR ALTRIX really free?
Yes. Every feature is free: unlimited dynamic QR codes, analytics, bulk generation, custom domains, teams and the API. There are no paid plans or upgrades, and nothing asks for a card.
What is the difference between a static and a dynamic QR code?
A static code stores the content inside the pattern itself — it works without internet but cannot be changed or tracked. A dynamic code stores a short link you control, so you can edit the destination after printing and see every scan. Dynamic codes also stay small and easy to scan, even for long destinations.
Do I need an account to make a QR code?
Not for static codes: design one on this page and download it straight away. A free account is needed for dynamic codes, because the account is what keeps them editable, trackable and recoverable. Signing up takes two fields and your design is carried across.
Can I put my logo in the middle of the QR code?
Yes — upload a PNG, JPG, WebP or SVG, or pick a built-in icon. The editor shows a live scan-safety score and tells you when the logo is large enough that you should raise error correction to Q or H.
Which file formats can I download?
PNG, SVG, PDF, JPEG, WebP and EPS. SVG, PDF and EPS are vector, so they stay sharp at any size. For print, use PDF or SVG and keep the quiet zone at 4 modules.
Can I use my own domain for the short links?
Yes, and it costs nothing. Add a subdomain such as links.yourbrand.com, add the DNS record shown in the dashboard, and choose a custom slug for every code.
What do you store about the people who scan my codes?
Only what analytics needs: country, region and city, device type, browser, operating system, language, referrer and time. IP addresses are salted and hashed so a unique visitor can be counted but not identified, and an administrator can set a retention period.
Is there a limit on how many QR codes I can create?
No product limit. The only caps are anti-abuse rate limits, and bulk import handles tens of thousands of rows in one job.
Can I run QR ALTRIX on my own server?
Yes. It ships with a Dockerfile, a Compose file for the app, PostgreSQL, Redis and the worker, an Nginx configuration with free SSL, backup and restore scripts, and a production guide.
What happens if I delete a QR code by accident?
Deleting marks the code as deleted and keeps its scan history, so it can be restored, and its short link is never handed to anyone else.
Print it once. Change it whenever.
Create your first dynamic QR code in under a minute. It keeps working for as long as you want it to — that is a product rule here, not a plan feature.
